In episode 7 of our Wilson Institute Speaker Series, Self-Isolation Edition, we have our long overdue chat with our 2019 Corisini Fellows: Matthieu Carron and Julia Pyryeskina.
For those of you that are new to the Wilson Institute: every year, thanks to the generosity of Bob and Bev Corsini, we are able to offer short term summer fellowships to graduate students working on topics related to Canada in a transnational setting. Matthieu Carron is a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto. His dissertation examines nightlife in Montréal during the Quiet Revolution. Julia Pyryeskina is Research Proposal Facilitator at the Office of the Vice-President at Ryerson University. At the time of her Corsini fellowship, Julia was a graduate student at York University. Her thesis examines Canadian gay and lesbian liberation as well as trans activism in the 1970s and 80s.
